Looks like we weren’t the only ones who wanted to make some improvements in the New Year. Facebook started rolling out a new call to action button available for retailers in the U.S. as of Dec 11, 2014, and plans to make the option available worldwide sometime this year.

Facebook also has call to action buttons available in their ads, but this is will be more widely accessible to businesses that don’t use Facebook Ads.

These buttons will allow businesses to add to their Facebook pages a button that links directly to their website, and is expected to drive more traffic and business objectives. Button options include the popular Shop Now, as well as Book Now, Contact Us, Use App, Play Game, Sign Up and Watch Video. The buttons will be located at the top of the page, next to the Like, Follow, and Message options.

So far, results have been promising. Online retailer, Dollar Shave Club (yes, the one with those funny commercials), says that the new call to action option has helped them acquire new customers. During a three-week test using the Sign Up button, they found a “2.5x higher conversion rate versus other comparable social placements aimed to drive new user acquisition.”

With numbers like those, this option could be a great addition for businesses looking to better utilize their Facebook pages.
